Ronda Rousey asked for a WWE comeback recently

Ronda Rousey remains the SmackDown Women’s Champion. The Rowdy One retained their title against Shotzi WWE Survivor Seriesto extend her reign that began just last month WWE Extreme Rules. During the on-screen title rivalry between Rousey and Shotzi, the two women got help behind the scenes from a returning WWE superstar. Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick worked alongside Jason Jordan as producer for the SmackDown Women’s Title match at WWE Survivor Seriesmarking his first work within the company in nearly a year.

talking on Observer Wrestling RadioDave Meltzer reported that Kendrick’s return to WWE was wanted personally by Rousey, as he was one of her original trainers. It was also added that Kendrick was only brought in for WWE Survivor Series He was not rehired by WWE.

Kendrick first joined WWE in 2002, where he had a brief stint that included a program with a young John Cena. He found his most notable success in his second stint in WWE, which began in 2005. There, he joined forces with Paul London and captured the WWE and World Tag Team titles. The duo’s WWE Tag Title reign lasted 331 days, which stood as a record for nearly a decade, until it was eclipsed by The New Day in 2016.

His third WWE career began in 2014, working as a trainer at the WWE Performance Center. Kendrick is credited with training the likes of Eva Marie and Sonya Deville. His last run in WWE began in 2016 at the WWE Cruiserweight Classic, which saw Kendrick reach the quarterfinals. Eventually he would win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship WWE Hell in a Cell 2016, her contract until the premiere episode of 205 live. Kendrick resumed his behind-the-scenes duties in 2020, serving as producer, continuing through early 2022.

Kendrick was scheduled to wrestle Jon Moxley on the February 2 edition of WWE AEW DynamiteHowever, the contest was canceled for once after Kendrick’s controversial comments came to light.

“I apologize for all the hurt and embarrassment I have caused with my words. These are not and never have been my beliefs, and I have crossed the line,” Kendrick wrote earlier this year. “I post the harshest comments without thinking about the damage it could cause. I will live with this regret for the rest of my life. I am truly sorry for the pain I caused.”
